Des Digest: Join us, along with Guest Chefs, for Supper Club
I often get asked about my time at The Ivy, Caprice and Soho House and my most memorable dishes so I’ve decided to launch my version of a Supper Club.
Every Wednesday at Vintage Salt Upper Street join me and a Guest Chef to enjoy a taste of our classics. I’m very fortunate to have an array of great chefs in my team that have worked with me for a long time. They have amazing CVs and have worked in some of London’s finest restaurants – from The Ivy, Le Caprice, Dean Street Town House, Holborn dining Room, New St Grill, The Printing Press, the list goes on….
Each week the guys will cook, alongside the Vintage Salt team, dishes as specials that are favourites of their repertoire.
Lee Bull kicked off the Supper Club with a weekly changing menu, the first week’s highlights included: The Ivy’s famous Bang bang chicken and Shepherd’s pie with buttered summer beans; Steamed razor clams with chorizo & wild garlic or chocolate pudding soufflé with honeycomb ice cream inspired by Scott’s; or Dressed Cornish crab in the style of J. Sheekey.Lee will be joined throughout the summer by guest chefs also cooking a menu of their signature dishes alongside the regular Vintage Salt menu. The first of these will be Steve Tonkin on 1st and 29th June and 6th July. Steve worked in a number of Michelin-starred kitchens before joining Soho House & Co (Dean Street Townhouse, Electric House, BKB, Café Boheme & Hoxton Grill).
